- Religion played a very important role in the daily life of Ancient Rome and the Romans.
- The Roman faith was centred around the gods and explanations for events usually involved the gods. The Romans worshippped the gods as they believed that the gods controlled their lives.
- The most important god was Jupiter (the king of the gods). He ruled alongside his wife Juno (the goddess of the sky)

Mercury - The messenger of the gods
Nepture - God of the Sea
Janus - God of the doorway
Diana - Goddess of Hunting
Vesta - Goddess of the Hearth
Minerva - Goddess of Healing and Wisdom
Venus - Goddess of Love
